ASP: Study of Acute Viprinex for Emergency Stroke. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of Ancrod (Viprinex) in subjects beginning treatment within 6 hours of onset of acute ischemic stroke.
Study overview:
This trial is designed to determine whether ancrod (Viprinex) begun intravenously within 6 hours of stroke onset shows statistically significant benefits in reducing incidence of disability at 90 days. Patients are followed in the hospital and the clinic for 90 days. This trial is currently enrolling.
