PRACTICE FOCUS
Comprehensive care for the MS patient is the only model that makes sense to me, and the need for a comprehensive treatment approach is increasing. In my more than 20 years of experience treating people with MS, I have seen the development of effective therapies and research leading to a new understanding of MS. Our current treatments can be complicated and have side effects. Evolving therapies are even more complex and in some cases risky. These factors, and the exponential increase in knowledge of MS management and treatments, places an even greater premium on selecting an experienced team of MS specialized nurses and physicians for your care. With this explosion of knowledge, the challenge for a MS clinician is to distill the science of MS into the practical treatment of the individual with MS.
For a healthcare professional, the demands of caring for people with MS can be challenging at times. I find the long-term relationships I develop with my MS patients to be the most personally rewarding and fulfilling of my entire career.
